Pocatello 50 Pre Run - Idaho Baby!

yesterday i got in a good 26 miles on the new for 2009 pocatello 50 miler.. the brain child of la sportiva runner jared campbell (4th at the hardrock 100 this year). joining us were luke nelson fresh off his win at ty draney's el vaquero loco 50km and his buddy evan honeyfield - both fast and talented guys. having just run 10,000 ft of rugged wasatch two days before meant i was the slow guy on the climbs, honestly with this crew i was probably the slow guy anyway.

it was an overcast day but the video jared put together does a good job of showing the amazing and fun terrain the race will cover.

Nice.

That top pic is gorgeous.

Though it kinda looks like a publicity shot for an indie band. You know, two serious guys looking off in different directions, giving you a sense that they're very, very "deep" or that that they just might know something you don't...

And then you think: nah, it's just Matt and Jared out on a run with some friends. And you read on.

Then you scroll down to find...

The Music Video.

And then you think: Wait a minute, maybe they are rockstars after all. And I just never knew.

So boys, what's the name of your band?

like i said i was a tag along. however that name sounds familiar - so i would have to say yes we were. but jared will have to chime in to know for sure.

What's this nonsense...Matt is actually IN the pictures instead of taking the pictures. That is complete crap!

i'm sorry to disapoint but jared had a camera.. i still would have used mine but he ended up getting all the good shots, and me.. not so much. so it was use some with me in them or none.

a start and finish at lava hot springs would be awesome! it's got all the goods you want after a race, river to soak in, hot tubs, and a bar to get the beers!

Mike
we actually started at west fork parking lot headed down to slate mountain trailhead, ran slate to gibson, up gibson to north fork of gibson, up to near the top of Kinport down cusick creek to city creek. Matt, JAred and Evan then went and ran up crestline trail near scout mountain. I agree that a boundary trail race would be unbelievable, maybe a good project to work on.
