Ski Mountaineering Blogs and Being a Loser

the snow is about to fly. if you ski, and by that i mean you earn your turns the way god intended then you have to follow these two blogs.
  • andew mcclean - my buddy cory likes to call this guy the "best skier in the world". he's a fellow mountain hardwear athlete. he skis the sickest lines in the sickest place. and he just gave away a free pair of k2 skis on his blog - many reasons to follow along.

  • steve romeo - jackson hole ski mountaineer. top rando racer who really gets after it.. always good stuff.

am i the biggest loser?
so i'm watching "the biggest loser" which i heard from a friend was good. well it's not, sorry copson. but i am taken by how good and low cal the meals appear on the show. to help those of us at home they also push these recipies online. i think "very cool" and grab the computer. in reading the thai salmon sate recipe i'm wondering how this is the advertised "250 calories" that is claims on the tv show. i then notice the fine print. the astericks at the bottom of the page says..
"*On-air, The Biggest Loser contestants made substitutions to some key ingredients in the recipes to limit the number of calories."
what?! then what is the point of showing us these recipes if they aren't what the contestants are using! man, rocho i'm disappointed, and shame on you nbc.

I needed a good laugh this morning so thanks for the biggest looser comments!
Snow fell high up in the alpine last night so ya, ski season is near. Already planning gear and trips. After world champs, its all about the touring.

Woah- I don't which copson said the biggest loser was good -- it certainly wasn't *this* copson. That show sucks. btw- I'm so incredibly sore today after trying FMJ yesterday, I feel like a big loser too.

snow up in bc hey seegs?! sweet. nothing here yet. i'm going to ride from the house up to brighton and back tomorrow so i'll get a closer look but with the temps reaching 85 in town it's not likely this week at least.

ha ha.. copson i thought your wife told me that. i love that you are incredibly sore - but next time start a bit easier. maybe 2 sets of each for the first section. do some yoga and stretching. then get back after it - try the 100s workout.

ooh i've got some good stuff coming!

dood, if you can get duped into thinking there are any redeeming features about a show like Biggest Loser, let me tell you about the fitness techniques that can be found on "I'm a Celebrity, Get me Out of Here!" ;-)

Ah, Brighton...fond memories of that place and the Wasatch run. I rallied there and hammered the rest of the course on a beautiful, clear moonlit night. We passed by there this summer as well on our HR trip. Hope you had a good ride up the valley there! (sucks to be you, man :-)

well bruce now that slc is my home - please come visit! my foot is coming around slowly. but i'm hopeful to get out on the wasatch 100 course before the snow flies. i really like the idea of riding the 50 miles w/6,000ft of gain to brighton and back with a run at the top! today i scoped a place to lock the bike and stash the backpack/bike gear for such an adventure. it might go down soon!

it's 86 degrees without a cloud in the sky.. i am not missing the seattle weather.. seriously, not at all.

Hey Loverboy,
Glad the foot is getting better. If I keep eating the way I have been since AC, I will be on the Biggest Loser next season.
